Individual Counseling
Individual assistance provided to students who are expressing difficulties dealing with personal (social/emotional) issues or normal developmental tasks that interfere with learning. Parent permission is required to participate.
Group Counseling
A support group for students who share a common concern relating to issues like personal (social/emotional), peer relationships, coping and problem solving skills. Parent permission is required to participate.
Crisis Counseling
Counseling and support is provided to students and families facing traumatic situations. Referrals to community organizations who can appropriately address issues like: suicidal ideation, violence, abuse, depression, anxiety, and family difficulties are available.
Restorative Practices
The use of informal and formal restorative counseling processes will be used to proactively build relationships and a sense of community to prevent conflict and potential wrongdoing. These methods will also be used to restore relationships that have been harmed as a result of conflict or wrongdoing.
Classroom Guidance
Assistance provided to teachers and students in the classroom setting to help teachers effectively respond to disruptive behaviors utilizing the PBIS methodology. This allows the student to have a better opportunity to succeed academically and learn how to interact appropriately with their peers.
Collaboration
Consultation with parents, families, colleagues, and community agencies to find resources in the community to help meet the needs of students and families.
Professional Development
Through consultation, collaboration and workshops, teachers and staff are regularly updated with professional knowledge, skills, and information that support the educational/behavioral needs of our students.
