Mr. Godeke
I grew up in Caspar, at the end of Fern Creek Road, and graduated from Mendocino High in 1986. I went to Yale University, then lived in the SF Bay Area for several years. In 1997 I went to graduate school on Long Island, New York, and I was a college professor for over ten years in Pennsylvania. I moved back to Fort Bragg in 2017, when I also started teaching at the middle school. It has been wonderful to be back on the North Coast, and working at FBMS. I like painting. I have made three murals across from the Veterans’ building near the public library. I also enjoy playing banjo (poorly), and basketball, doing carpentry, and gardening. My family and I live in town, and we have two cats.
Ms. Frederick
I am an artist and art educator who has been been teaching and curating in San Diego at the project-based school called High Tech High for 11 years and have taught Art and Spanish at Mendocino High School for 3 years, and this is my second year at FBMS! I have participated in art residencies in Spain and the Maldives. My background is in printmaking, painting, and mixed media art, but I love to experiment and explore lots of mediums. I love to travel, paint, play ping pong, be at the beach, in the water, the woods (being outside in general), and working on lots of projects (usually at the same time)! I also love oysters, fish (all seafood) , olives, tomatoes, and stinky cheeses.
