TOOLS & RESOURCES FOR YOUR SMALL GROUP
WHAT IS AN FBG SMALL GROUP?
Simply put, Small Groups are a place to practice what is preached.
Members of a small group are loved, pursued, challenged, and transformed into a gospel-centered family that desires to live life together in Christ.
We do this by implementing six core values each time we meet. They are called the FBG Essentials.
HINGES ON GOD'S WORD
It all starts in the time you spend alone with God. Devote yourself to God's word daily and then share what you are learning with your small group.
John 15:5
FLOWS FROM SUNDAY SERVICE
Christ leads His bride through the local church. The personal conviction of the Spirit you experience in corporate worship is verified and applied when you share it with one another in small group.
Ephesians 2:20-22
MEETS REGULARLY
Small Group takes a commitment. Often you'll have to decide what you are willing to miss in your schedule in order to prioritize your small group. But, it's worth it!
Hebrews 10:25
RELATES AUTHENTICALLY
Authenticity means sharing how you're really doing, asking for help with the sin struggles that keep appearing in your life, and allowing your group to pray for hurts and joys in your life.
James 5:16
MOVES OUTWARDLY
A Christ-like small group moves outwardly by serving in the church, the community and the world while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. If your small group seems a little flat, perhaps you're missing the critical element of moving outwardly.
Matthew 28:19-20
COUNSELS BIBLICALLY
Choose God's word over personal experience or opinion. Set the culture in your group of asking "What does the Bible say about that?". When you don't know the answer, search the scriptures together for answers. Let God's word be the ultimate authority in your small group.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
