The Stables is a caring and accepting school where we all work, together, to service the academic, social, and emotional needs of each member of our diverse learning community. We utilize our work with horses and our nontraditional setting to allow students unique opportunities for collaboration and ownership in their education. Our school helps students develop a sense of pride and belonging. When students graduate from The Stables they will leave with the skills and confidence needed to be successful.
The Stables provides a great opportunity for students in grades 8-12 to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Kentucky Horse Park while also growing socially and academically. Anne is a middle school student who is worried about the larger environment of her future high school. She identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and this has led to bullying at her middle school. Her grades are beginning to suffer due to this.
Elizabeth is a student who is not identified as special education, but receives therapy for her anxiety outside of school. A fight happened in her high school classroom and she is worried about returning to school. She can do well in school but lacks confidence in her abilities.
