SMS PLCS

• What is PLCS?
  • Practical Living and Career Studies are classes that to most people are known as elective courses. Our areas fall under the umbrella of courses that teach basic life skills to all students through Career and Technical Education, Health/PE or Foreign Language. At SMS they have traditionally been called Exploratory classes because the purpose of the classes being a nine weeks course is so that kids are exposed to a variety of areas of possible interest. In high school students must choose a pathway for the elective courses. By having exposure to all of the PLCS and Arts courses they can make an informed decision on their career pathway in high school.
