GT VPA Audition Sign Up Form (Open August 12 – September 25, 2026)
All students in grades 3rd–7th who reside in Fayette County will have the opportunity to participate in the audition process.
Gifted Resource Teachers at the elementary and middle levels will provide time dedicated to complete auditions recordings during the school day.

The School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA) at Bluegrass is a Fayette County Public School serving gifted and talented students in grades 4–8 who are identified as gifted in one of nine arts areas. SCAPA Bluegrass offers high-quality arts instruction in ballet, contemporary dance, literary arts/creativity, drama, band, strings, vocal music, piano, and visual art.
SCAPA students are recommended for placement through the same audition process as district-wide Gifted and Talented arts auditions. ALL students interested in being identified for giftedness will audition in October/November for possible placement for the following school year.
Gifted and Talented Visual and Performing Arts, including auditions for SCAPA, are recorded and submitted through every elementary and middle school in FCPS during the district-wide audition window and are scored by a panel of arts educators from across the district in December. Your arts teacher or GT specialist at your FCPS school will help you record and submit your audition for possible GT Identification.
Non-FCPS students will attend an audition date on a weekday to record prepared and on-demand activities for submission. (See below for specific dates for the current year.)
For students previously identified as gifted in their arts discipline, SCAPA placement requires a current audition the year prior to entering the program (students currently identified that are interested in SCAPA for the 2027–2028 school year must complete the audition process again to meet potential SCAPA eligibility)
After a student receives notification of GT Identification, families can determine whether they want to make a formal application for placement at SCAPA Bluegrass for the following school year. Students must have a gifted identification and current audition to be eligible for the SCAPA program. Formal application is made through the SchoolMint platform during the district-wide special programs application window.

Each middle and high school has a Gifted and Talented teacher assigned to the school. If you have questions about the actual audition and recording process, please contact this GT teacher first. If you have other questions about SCAPA specifically, contact Ms Sewell at SCAPA Bluegrass.
Applicants who do not attend a FCPS school will attend an on-demand and recording session at SCAPA Bluegrass or SCAPA Lafayette.

Students must have a confirmation email from SCAPA Bluegrass to attend.
