Dear Parents:
We are pleased to offer the BackPack Program Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. FEED has formed a partnership with a non-profit member agency and area schools to provide children with a variety of non-perishable food items such as fruit cups, granola bars, milk, cereal, and canned meals. The BackPack Program is voluntary and is offered at no cost to participants. Children referred to the program will receive a variety of items in their backpacks on Friday afternoons. Please complete the attached permission slip and have your child return it to the Youth Services Center, Room 712. The school, sponsoring agency and volunteers implementing the program, will keep your child’s name confidential.

Nos complacemos en ofrecerles el Programa PLD BackPack. La escuela Paul L. Dunbar High School y FEED han formado una sociedad con FEED, una agencia sin fines de lucro; dentro del area de las escuelas, para proveerle a los alumnos variedad de comidas no perecederas, como por ejemplo fruta enlatada, barras de granola, leche, cereal, y comida enlatada.
El Programa BackPack es voluntario y sin costo para todos aquellos que quieran participar. Los estudiantes que deseen participar o sean recomendados para ser parte de este programa, recibirán una variedad de artículos para que se los lleven a sus casas los días Viernes a la hora de la salida. Por favor llene la solicitud que está en la parte baja de este documento y que su hijo la entregue en el Youth Service Center que se encuentra en el salón 712. Tanto la escuela, la agencia patrocinadora, y los voluntarios que participan en este programa, mantendrán el privado el nombre de su estudiante.
The dentist is coming to PLD, October 8, 2025! The School Smiles on-site dental program provides on-site dental care at our school for ALL students that signup to participate. The dental team will set up inside our school and they accept Medicaid, private insurance, offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation. Registration is now open online with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form. See the flyer and frequently asked question below, don’t miss out!
Believe it or not Summer Youth Job Training Program 2026 enrollment is about to open. Please share this information with all of the eligible families you come in contact with. Registration will go live today at the following website: https://www.lexingtonky.gov/summer-youth-job-training-program. The only eligibility requirement is that the students attend Fayette County high school students that are currently in the 9th , 10th, or 11th for the 25-26 school year. Only 300 youth will be employed and youth that participate/ complete in the online Skills Sessions beginning January 2026 will receive priority placement. Please let me know if you have any questions.
