The application window for the 2026-2027 school year is open from
November 3, 2025, until January 30, 2026, until 3:00 PM for current 10th and 11th grade students. Only completed applications will be considered.
Our mission is to provide all students, especially lower-income, first-generation college, and minority students, an opportunity to achieve high school and college academic success.
For your application to be reviewed by OMC admissions, you must complete steps 1, 2, and 3.
You will complete steps 4, 5, and 6 after you are accepted to OMC.

Eligible applicants are currently in the 10th or 11th grade during the 2025-2026 school year.
The applying student must complete this portion of the form.
You will respond to four interview questions by recording and submitting your responses. Respond to ALL FOUR questions using the links to the right. The questions are outlined below as well as on each recording screen. There is a 2-minute time limit for each question's response.
1) Introduce yourself using your full name. Share why you are interested in Opportunity Middle College, and how the program aligns with your goals or aspirations.
2) Describe a challenge you have faced in your academic or personal life and how you overcame it.
3) What unique strengths or perspectives do you bring to OMC and how will they contribute to your success in the program?
4) How do you approach collaboration and teamwork? Give an example of an experience.
*To record your videos, you will need any device with a webcam, a microphone, and internet access. You will be prompted to sign in to Screencastify using any Google account.
* Screencastify recording links can take a few seconds or minutes to load.
You will be notified of your application status to OMC on or before February 16, 2026.
Once accepted into the OMC program, students must finish the application process with Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
Students who have already been accepted to BCTC may omit this step.
Students who are accepted into the program may be required to take a college placement exam given before scheduling for college classes. Students who have met benchmark scores on the ACT will be able to use those scores for college course selection.
A mandatory parent/student orientation will be held in the classroom building at BCTC. At this orientation, OMC staff will assist you in making selections for your BCTC classes for the fall and we will discuss the details of the programs.
