October 2026 Senior Spotlight- Jake He

I’m an aspiring chemist and materials scientist. I’m part of Dunbar’s TSA and FRC Robotics clubs. I play classical piano and compose/arrange as a hobby. I like baking, playing video games, and reading Wikipedia articles in my free time. I listen to all kinds of classical and Asian rock music. I have a tuxedo cat named Paris who tolerates me. My research with the UKY Department of Chemistry is an investigation into the stability of conductive polymers over long periods of time, sitting at the junction of materials science, electrochemistry, and organic chemistry. In the future I will complete a master’s and PhD in chemistry or materials science, and I hope to work at a national laboratory.
