The Math, Science, and Technology Center (MSTC) began in 1990 and is a program designed for students that are gifted in math or science. The program offers a rigorous curriculum, broad choice in class options, and the opportunity for an independent research project with a university mentor.
My name is Akrawin Nontapan but I go by Poom. I love snowboarding, trying new activities and foods, and hanging out with friends. My parents own "Mai Thai Restaurant" so food is an important aspect of my life. In school, I participate in swim, track, and volleyball. I also tutor but love helping others in areas like math and physics. I am also a huge Beabadoobee fan so most my music revolves around her. In my lab, I am currently researching the effects that ketones have on patients with Alzheimer's Disease and if this could be a therapeutic solution to the Alzheimer's pathology. I am committed to Washington University in Saint Louis for Neuroscience. Go Bears!
