      • Student can demonstrate drawing forms, perspective, shading/value, etc.
      • Student will answer a few questions about the elements and principles of art and design and their future desires and careers in the visual arts fields.

Course Requirements

Student Must have a strong art background, motivation and desire to continue with the visual arts in high school, college and a various career field in the visual arts. Student must be able to work on art independently on studio days. Student will be expected to keep a sketchbook inside and outside of classroom to work on art work. Student will be required to finish projects on a timeline.

Discovery Class

Students will be working on various art mediums such as drawing ( graphite, charcoal, pastel, oil pastel, pen and ink), clay(ceramics)/glazing, painting still life and landscapes ( watercolor, tempera and acrylic), mixed media art and collage, printmaking, sculpture(plaster paris, wire, cardboard, etc.), and/or digital art throughout the 18 week course. This course is very much quality vs. quantity so students will dedicate their time and skills on larger projects.
