As part of College & Career Readiness, students complete a variety of tests that measure academic growth, pathway knowledge, and readiness for life after high school. Below are the main assessments:
ACT – State-administered for all juniors; used for college admissions, scholarships, and readiness benchmarks.
SAT – National college admissions exam; students may register independently if they wish to test in addition to (or instead of) the ACT.
AP Exams – Opportunity to earn college credit in high school; offered each spring through College Board.
End-of-Pathway (EOP) Assessments – Taken by CTE concentrators; demonstrate pathway mastery and count toward career readiness. Using taken between February- March.
Industry Certifications- Industry certifications are professional credentials that students can earn while in high school to show mastery of skills in a specific career area. These certifications are recognized by colleges, employers, and apprenticeship programs — giving students a competitive advantage for both college and career opportunities. The listing are in our CTE Pathway Sequence.
State Assessments (KSA/KSA-Alt, etc.) – Measure progress toward Kentucky graduation and accountability standards.
Other Exams – PSAT/NMSQT, ASVAB, or industry certifications, depending on student interests and pathways.
Testing helps students open doors to scholarships, college admission, and career certifications — key parts of becoming College & Career Ready.
