Shakira Goldsmith-Mason & Dr. Sharrion Brown
What to Expect
Our role is to provide emotional and social support to students who are referred to us by school staff or by their caregivers. We assist students by teaching them skills to overcome social and/or emotional barriers that impede on their academic or social success.
Support can be offered individually or in a group setting (or both!)
Written consent from the parent or guardian is required prior to your student receiving services.
All services provided are confidential, and can be terminated at any time by the parent/guardian.
All support is only offered during school hours.
Please Note
Students who are seen by a District Mental Health Specialist will not be diagnosed with mental health disorders, prescribed medication, or be billed for services. If at any time you feel that your child may need a mental health evaluation or medication management, at the parent/guardian's request we are able to refer the student to a community partner who is able to do so! (at the parent/guardian's request ONLY!)
