Elementary

Elementary school students can start using Desmos Classroom Activities as early as kindergarten! Take a look at the activities below. Click on the corner and open in a new tab. You can then filter the header row by activity type, approximate grade level, or mathematical strand. There are also some explanation on the different activity types below.

Have an activity to share that isn't listed? Please fill out the form below and we will add it to the list!

Special Activity Types

MARBLESLIDES

How Marbleslides Work:

Marbleslides provide a fun, video-game environment where students are challenged to create parameters so that their marble slide a certain way. This feature needs to be enabled in Desmos Labs to make your own in Activity Builder.

Polygraph

How Polygraph Works:

  1. Each student plays a practice round against the computer to learn how the game works.

  2. Next, students are paired with a classmate to play polygraph with graphs (or polygons—it’s teacher choice!) One person chooses a graph; their partner asks yes/no questions in order to narrow a field of suspects down to one.

  3. Between rounds, students answer questions that focus their attention on vocabulary and strategy.

Card Sort

How Card Sort Works:

Students drag and match cards for any mathematical relationship. You can use the Results View to see how students are doing. A Summary Review will show you common errors made.
