Welcome to Commodore Playschool. We are so excited that you have decided to consider bringing your child to playschool this year.
My name is Amanda Sewell and I am theTeaching & Learning Pathway teacher here at Tates Creek High School. If you ever need to reach me you can email me at amanda.sewell@fayette.kyschools.us. The mission of this playschool program is to create an environment to give the child a love for learning and to focus on the development of the child in all areas of development. Each day the children will participate in math, science, art, music, language, reading, large motor, small motor and dramatic play activities. Tates Creek High School Teaching & Learning Pathway students will plan and implement high level preschool lessons for children to participate.

Playschool will meet on high school A days.

The first day of playschool for Fall 2025 is September 22, 2025.
The last day of playschool for Fall 2024 will be 12/14/2025.
Drop off will be from 8:30am -8:55am
Pickup will be from 11:15-11:30 am.
Drop off and pickup will be in the staff parking lot to the right of the main doors if you are looking at the school.
Look for the brick paved lot.
There is less traffic here both in the mornings and afternoons fro pickup and drop off.
We will be waiting over at this lot for students.
We will be outside for drop off from 8:30am - 8:55am.
We will be outside for pickup at 11:15 am.
Please be here by 11:30 am to pick up your student!
Please call me at 606-923-3454 if you need to drop off late or pick up early so we can meet you or bring your child up!
IMPORTANT DROP OFF INFORMATION
The first few weeks it is perfectly ok to park and bring your student in to class. You will have to go through the front entrance and through the metal detectors and one of the high school students will meet you to bring you to where we are. When you and your student are comfortable to drop them off to us we can begin that!
Just know that we do get MESSY while we learn
We use washable paint
Don’t wear anything you would be upset if it gets dirty
What to Bring
Each student should bring a change of clothes in a ziplock bag that is labeled. I can keep these here if you would like or they can travel back and forth daily. Please include top, bottoms, underwear and socks.
Students need to bring a reusable water bottle daily for drinks. We will keep these out where they can get to them in case they are thirsty.
PLEASE LABEL THESE!
Bring a jacket or coat. Anytime it's warmer than 35 degrees we could go outside for a little while!
Weather Info
If Fayette County is closed for weather then Playschool will be cancelled.
If there is a 1 hour delay we will still have Playschool that day.
If there is a 2 hour delay we will not have Playschool that day.
Snack Time
We provide a snack daily between 10:30 and 11:00 am
Typically it’s goldfish or ritz crackers, fruit snacks, fruit, etc.
If your child has a food allergy please make sure I know
We will occasionally have parties and let you know if you want to bring anything
Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day week will definitely be party weeks
