The Lafayeti is an illusive and mysterious creature of folklore that roams the halls and grounds of Lafayette High School. He's a seldom seen protector of the school, often spotted wearing General's clothing like a tricorn hat, sword, or blue coat similar to that of the school namesake, Marquis de Lafayette. Some claim to have seen him walking in the morning mist of Lafayette's front yard. Others say that he lives in the abandoned locker room near the third floor swimming pool. However, few have been able to capture him on film. Though he is shy, he is said to be full of school pride and thrives on the energy of our bustling building and the lively students at LHS.
Since campus has been still and quiet all summer, it is believed the Lafayeti has become restless. He misses seeing the LHS students every day and has left the school grounds. Sightings of the yeti have been seen all over Kentucky. Generals - can you capture the Lafayeti? We'd love to see where you might spot him while off-campus!
(Remember Flat Stanley? The Lafayeti is like his cooler older cousin.)

The infamous Lafayeti originated under the genius of art teacher Ben Drake in 2016 (See left/top image). Presumed to hide on the third floor near the school swimming pool, he was not seen for a few years after.
Becoming a figment of folklore, it wasn't until 2019 that he resurfaced through LHS alum Serina Lin (See right/bottom image of her sketch). The newest iteration of the Lafayeti to be seen wandering around the LHS campus was made by art teacher Vanessa Jirik and is featured in most of the images on this site and social media.
