🧑💻 FULL CAST: In ProductionPro, turn on the Director's Notes layer. To do this, go to the Binder, click the script, then select the dropdown menu from the top-middle of the page (probably says, "My Notes"). In the popup window you see, click the gray eyeball icon beside "Director's Notes" to turn them on. This will allow you to see all of the relevant notes from me for everyone throughout the script. Explore highlighting and putting notes in your own layer. For help on a web browser. For help on an iPad. (5-15 mins)

AGRABAHN DC's
#1 & #2 - "Arabian Nights"
AGRABAHNS - Focus on this group first, movements when they are all singing or are in two groups.#6 - "One Jump Ahead"
Simply review your work.DJINN / SKELETONS DANCE CPT's
#9 - "Dungeon Ditty"
Make this simple and playful, have ideas for the soloists in case they need them.#14 - "Friend Like Me"
Simply review your work and finish the ending.#20 - "A Whole New World" (1st priority)
AVIS - Consider whole stage featured movement with fabric, abstractly representing the carpet.DJINN - Consider using them to create wondrous sights, limited stage area at beginning, then expanded perhaps to full stage & cafeteria in middle, then reduced to small area at end.ENTOURAGE DC's
#18 - "Prince Ali"
Assume this group will be moving on a path through the cafeteria, eventually moving up stairs. Plan to make use of acrobatics where possible.📋 STAGE MANAGERS: Read-through script cover-to-cover once with guide vocals playing songs. Thursday, review the sound effects document and the props list document. (1-2 hours)
🧑💻 AUDIO TECHNICIANS:
Transfer your sound effects (sfx) ideas to the audio ideas list here, filling in a row for each idea, at least 6 ideas for each designer. (1-2 hrs)
Wednesday or Thursday, after a couple others have added ideas, revisit the page and add a couple of your thoughts to the right about other designer ideas. (5-10 mins)
On Tuesday, check for a new Audio layer which I will share and review the time stamps in pink. (5-10 mins)
Ethan: RENAME your old Audio layer, "Ethan - Audio." Delete all transferred annotations from your layer so you don't see duplicates. (15-20 mins)
🪔 DESIGNERS: On Tuesday, revisit the props list, which I will clean up and update. View the new "Props" layer I've shared with you. (5-10 mins)
Estella B, Gabe, & Reese: Create a new layer, or rename your layer, "[Name] - Props." Share this layer with Mr. Hart, Ms. Fuhrman, and each of the other designers. Then input a note in ProductionPro on your props layer, similar to an examples you'll see in yellow on the first page, for each of the approved & assigned prop ideas into your props layer of ProductionPro. (1-2 hrs)
Asher, Elise M, & Taytum: On Wednesday and Thursday, review the ProductionPro props layers shared with you and verify the assigned & approved prop ideas from the list have been entered. Create a new layer, or rename your layer, "[Name] - Props," and share this layer with Mr. Hart, Ms. Fuhrman, and each of the other designers. Add any missing items to your own layer. (1-2 hrs)

FULL CREW & CASTWe have a cast of excellent singers, and when they sing music they know, it sounds incredible! Our crew is off to a strong start organizing, creating, focusing, and troubleshooting! Our understudies are excited and prepared to jump in and fill in for anyone who is missing! Aladdin, Genie, & Jasmine are well-prepared with their solos (I haven't yet worked with Jafar & Iago on theirs)!
ProductionPro's software engineer has been on vacation and are expected to return Mon, Jan 12, at which point they should immediately be troubleshooting why access to my Director's Notes layer in the digital script is unavailable to me and the entire cast & crew.
Costuming for the entire ensemble, for the purpose of economy and simplicity of a very large cast, is likely to include a base layer of a solid-color tee and perhaps leggings, jeans, or shorts of specific colors. We may ask for most families to supply these basic items and the footwear but are just beginning to work on the vision for that, with our student designers brainstorming ideas for the staff volunteers to consider and approve.
Students need to remember to remain near the front door if not picked up on time. Mr. Guthrie can monitor that area safely after rehearsal, and I exit that direction to verify pickup.
A script idea a student suggested for more easily managing theirs was to visit Office Depot and have it spiral bound. The student reported it cost them $2.50 and 5-10 minutes. This is completely optional, but certainly could make managing a script on stage and in rehearsal more convenient.
Completing a social contract for the musical seems redundant currently, based on behaviors observed, so we are using our already established pack social contracts combined with the agreements from the musical Participation Form as our guide for now.
FULL CREW & CAST: Verify homework for the winter break was completed (scroll down to Week 1). If not, catch up as soon as possible. More homework than usual was given that week, and many in the ensemble did not complete their most important assignment adequately, memorizing three important songs. Additionally, half of the cast has not accepted the invitation to sign up for their ProductionPro account. (0-3 hours)
AGRABAHNS, DJINN/SKELETONS, & ENTOURAGE (including UNDERSTUDIES, excluding DANCE CAPTAINS/CREW): (1-3 hours)
Practice & finish memorizing "One Jump Ahead" & "Prince Ali." (incomplete homework)
Memorize "Arabian Nights 1," "Arabian Nights 2," & "A Whole New World."
FULL CAST: Memorize ALL assigned dialogue in Scenes 4A-6 (Aladdin's Home w/ Jasmine through Aladdin entering the Cave...use ProductionPro to find scene numbers). (0-1 hour)
STAGE MANAGERS: Review & study crew and cast list, including pictures, on web page. Read-through script cover-to-cover once with guide vocals playing songs. Wednesday or Thursday, review the costume ideas document and the props list document. (1-2 hours)
AUDIO TECHNICIANS: Break down each of the ensemble songs into sections (find the obvious transition parts of the songs), and finish placing time stamps into your scripts. Here are the primary ensemble songs: #1, #2, #6, #9, #13, #18, #20, & #28. Check back on ProductionPro on Tuesday afternoon, and see if you can load your script and add the Director's Layer. Then I will also add an Audio layer. Turn on the Audio layer and add the time stamps into that layer of your digital script. This is complicated, and I can discuss it Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon with Colin & Ethan at those times to clarify. Christian, you can visit with Colin or me on Wednesday if you have questions. (1-2 hours)
DESIGNERS: Read the full script focusing on prop ideas, while taking your own notes. Especially notice any likely required props (items which need to be used in the play because they are specifically mentioned in the script & help tell the story). Also, feel free to consider possible props which help the audience better understand a character, group of characters, setting, or scene. Then add your items (at least 3 each) to the props list here, filling in the row. After a couple others have added ideas, revisit the page and add a couple of your thoughts to the right about other designer ideas. (1-2 hours)
DANCE CAPTAINS: Practice your choreographed combo ideas from previous homework enough that you can confidently demonstrate them in front of your ensembles and/or the CAST. Mark the specific measures in each song which you have a combo idea choreographed. Finally, make a harder or easier version (1-2 advanced or simpler move options) of each idea. (see Week 1 homework) (1-2 hours)
Brayan OG, Evelynn AT, Penelope M, Veda P: Read the full script with music playing the Guide Vocal tracks two additional times, noting instances of any group singing & questions about your characters' involvement in scenes/songs. (1-2 hours)
