Eunice is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She was raised by a single parent in a low-income neighborhood and is a first-generation college graduate. After earning a bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1999, she returned to Jacksonville and began working as a nurse at a local hospital.
While working as a nurse, Eunice invested in rental properties and opened a retail business at a local mall -- all while using her own funds and personal credit.
Eunice attended countless business workshops and networking events -- spending tens of thousands of dollars to gain business knowledge from so-called experts. However, none of those "experts" ever taught her the importance of building business credit or how to leverage her business' assets.
Unfortunately, when the real estate market and the economy crashed in 2006 - 2008, she lost all of her investment properties, closed her retail business, and her personal credit scores decreased as a result.
However, still possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, Eunice opened a medical training business in 2008. Again, she was still using her own finances and personal credit to build a business and could not open new personal credit lines due to her credit challenges. Sound familiar?
In order to finally address the old real estate investment debts and improve her personal credit, Eunice filed a Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy in 2011. One day after the bankruptcy was discharged, she was able to obtain a secured credit card and began to rebuild her personal credit.
Five years later, she was able to purchase a residential property and had a personal credit score above 700 -- even with a history of bankruptcy and foreclosures.
Eunice is proof that there is Life after Bankruptcy. Bankruptcy may not be the answer for everyone, but bankruptcy gave Eunice the Fast Start that she needed to rebuild her personal credit.
Fast forward to 2021. Eunice has been a business owner for two decades -- and a successful business owner of a medical training business for over 13 years. She is a transparent leader who has mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Through a "trial and error" approach, Eunice learned how to open and grow businesses the hard way. She also learned valuable strategies to improve personal credit and build business credit. Strategies that can only be learned through experience.
