Hello and welcome to our classroom site! 

My name is Mrs. Romero and I am delighted to be your student's teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. I am excited to be joining your student on this journey as we join FAST together! I went Kennesaw State University. This will be my 5th year as a teacher and my 4th year in kindergarten! Kindergarten is my all time favorite grade! My family is from Honduras and my favorite place is the beach. 

My teaching philosophy: 

Children are curious beings and the best way to light that curiosity on fire is to provide them opportunities that will allow them to tap into their potential and cultivate that inherent love for learning. The methods we employ in our classroom will create opportunities through play, hands-on experiments and lessons, and challenges to encourage the students to reflect on their own individual levels of learning. 

I am a huge supporter of developing Growth Mindset and Mindfulness, which we will implement into our morning meetings on the daily. These sessions will go hand-in-hand with our Second Step Social Emotional curriculum and will provide our young scholars with the tools they need to overcome difficulties, become organic problem solvers, and to be the positive change in the world they are maturing into. 

My expectation of the student this year is to give themselves the opportunity to grow and to understand that each one of us grows differently.

I am delighted to be returning to FAST again this year to support your children and Mrs. Romero in exceeding their new, challenging, fun and exciting educational goals.  My wife and I have raised three now adult children within the Fulton County School system. I am so very proud now to be a part of it.  My youngest son is a teacher in Fulton (and the inspiration for me becoming a paraprofessional). I am a live long learner.  I received my BS in accounting from St. John's University and my Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida.  I am a huge college football fan (GO GATORS) and enjoy spending my spare time with my family.

We are going to have an exciting, fun, and innovative year!!! I am thrilled to be on this journey in partnership with Mrs. Romero, your children and you!!!
