Welcome Message
Welcome to 5th Grade
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and welcome your student to the fifth grade at FAST. This will be my-22nd year teaching. I am really looking forward to the upcoming school year, building upon the skills students mastered last year, and helping students accomplish new challenges in language arts, math, science, social studies and innovation. I feel that a positive learning experience is built on a collaborative effort among parents, students, and teachers, and I welcome your questions and concerns as the year progresses.
We have many expectations for our fifth-grade students at FAST. One of the biggest is being responsible for assignments and actions. Your student is responsible for completing and turning in each assignment. It is essential that you follow up on homework, and correspondences, and reinforce positive behavior.
It is my goal for each of my students to experience success and to foster a love of learning. I am thrilled to work with you and your child over the course of the school year. If questions or concerns should arise, please feel free to email me at lori.casal@fastk8.org. I look forward to working with you this school year!
Class Expectations/Norms
Masks are optional in the building.
Students will be sharing certain supplies.
Chromebooks do not come home.
Students must turn in work in a timely manner, & be respectful towards themselves, peers, teachers/administration & property.
Students will have silent lunch if they continuously need to be addressed about behavior. If behavior continues you will receive communication from me.
ALL STUDENTS must have notebooks for every subject. NO BINDERS are allowed in the classroom. With 26 students storage is limited and they take up a lot of room. Please make sure your child has a notebook for Math, Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Morning Work. I appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
