Biannual Clean and Green Day and Compost Giveaway will take place on Saturday, April 18th. This is a great opportunity to help clean up our community while earning community service hours. Trash not only makes our village look messy, but it can also clog streams and rivers, contribute to flooding, and harm wildlife when it reaches the Long Island Sound.
Students can sign up using the QR code on the flyer. Participants will receive a service letter on site at Harbor Island Park at 9:30 a.m. We hope to see you there helping keep our community clean and green!

FASNY Community Service Requirement for High School :
- Requirement: 50 hours total from grades 9 to 12.
- Summer Volunteer Work: Counts towards the upcoming school year. For example, volunteer work done by a rising 9th grader over the summer counts for 9th grade.
If students arrive in 9th grade they are responsible for 50 hours for their graduation requirement.
If they arrive in 10th grade, 39 hours; in 11th grade, 26 hours and in 12th grade 13 hours.
President Volunteer Service Award :
- Submission Deadline: All hours must be submitted by or no later than the end of May of the current school year.
- High School: Students can earn this award by completing 100 hours during the school year
