Guidelines:
With the uprising of people using AI to make "art" works, we kindly ask you to not use AI for your submissions. Any work with the use of AI will not be considered.
If the work you submitted was accepted for another publication, please inform us.
Eligibility:
Only Cambria County students in grades 6-12 may submit
Guidelines:
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST GO THROUGH THE GOOGLE FORM
Individual students
Poetry - 1 poem per submitter. No more than 5 pages.
Flash Fiction - No more that 1,000 words.
Essays - No more than 1,500 words.
Teachers:
You can submit your students' work as one document
Privacy:
We will collect email address for verification purposes, but we will NOT publish them. We will only publish the author's first initial and if they are in middle or high school. We will not disclose the school or grade level of the student. All accepted pieces will require a parental consent form that will be emailed to the parents. Without this, we will not be able to publish the piece.
Submission & Rights Disclaimer – Written in Gold:
By submitting work to Written in Gold, the contributor affirms that the submission is their original creation, that they are the sole author and rights holder, and that the work has not been previously published in any form, including online, at the time of submission.
Contributors retain full copyright of their work. By submitting, the contributor grants Written in Gold first publication rights, including the non-exclusive right to publish, display, and archive the work on its website and associated platforms. After publication, all rights revert fully to the author; however, Written in Gold requests acknowledgment as the original place of publication in any subsequent reproductions.
The contributor grants Written in Gold permission to edit submissions for grammar, clarity, length, and formatting, while maintaining the integrity and intent of the original work.
As Written in Gold publishes student writers, identifying information will be limited. Published works will be attributed using the contributor’s first initial (or approved pseudonym), in accordance with student privacy considerations.
By submitting, the contributor affirms that the work does not contain plagiarism, and does not violate any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of others. The contributor further affirms that the work is not defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise harmful, offensive, or inappropriate for a school-affiliated publication.
For contributors under the age of 18, submission constitutes confirmation that a parent or legal guardian has granted permission for the work to be submitted and published under these terms.
Written in Gold reserves the right to decline or remove any submission at its discretion.
