Requirements

You may have read the benefits of patrolling and are thinking that it sounds great. However, patrolling requires a commitment. First, the training to become a patroller requires substantial time and effort. Second, you must patrol a minimum of 15 days each season. A patrol day starts at 7:30 AM and finishes around 4:45 PM. However, if someone is missing on the mountain, search and rescue activities could extend into the night. Throughout a patrol day, you need to be available to respond to injuries and other patrol duties. In addition, you are expected to continue to learn and develop your patrolling skills/knowledge.
