FREE three week summer program for for 11th & 12th graders. Receive 3 college credits (POLS120), the first course in the Intelligence Studies Program. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required. Use this link to apply.

Year-long program offered to rising seniors (current juniors) at no tuition cost! Upon completion of the program and achievement of national certification, students will be given priority consideration for employment at an HPH Facility. Applying students must complete ALL graduation required courses prior to senior year.

4 day lifeguard training course from March 16-March 19 that will allow you work as a lifeguard with the Department of Parks & Recreation - starting pay is $19.23. Must be at least 15 years old to apply.

Under the Hawaii Child Labor Law, a child labor certificate or “work permit” is required for working minors until they reach 18 years of age. There is no charge for the certificate, and we will generally issue a certificate as long as: (1) the minor is not legally required to be in school, and (2) the minor’s employment is not hazardous. There are two types of certificates, depending upon the age of the minor. The procedures to obtain these certificates are explained below.
