6 week paid program open to high school juniors and seniors. Designed to provide hands on experience in health care, the internship is offered at HPH and it's network of medical centers.

Year-long program offered to rising seniors (current juniors) at no tuition cost! Upon completion of the program and achievement of national certification, students will be given priority consideration for employment at an HPH Facility. Applying students must complete ALL graduation required courses prior to senior year.

5 week unpaid internship at the office of Lieutenant Governor, Sylvia Luke. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how government works while building skills in research, writing, public speaking, and teamwork. Minimum age of 16 to apply.

1 week summer program for 10th - 12th graders (must be 16 or older). The program provides an engaging, hands-on learning opportunity for students interested in health professions. Cost is $575, but 6 need based scholarships are available.

Under the Hawaii Child Labor Law, a child labor certificate or “work permit” is required for working minors until they reach 18 years of age. There is no charge for the certificate, and we will generally issue a certificate as long as: (1) the minor is not legally required to be in school, and (2) the minor’s employment is not hazardous. There are two types of certificates, depending upon the age of the minor. The procedures to obtain these certificates are explained below.
