Welcome to Seal Class
Welcome back to a new school year to all our pupils and parents. We hope you all had a wonderful summer and are excited to be back to a new school year. We are very excited to be teaching Seal Class (Year 3 and 4) this year and continuing to get to know the children as we support and guide the next steps in their learning journeys.
Some important things to note:
Wellies will be needed in school every day as we continue to benefit from the use of the field at lunchtimes. Please make sure they are named.
Reading Journals - These need to be brought into school daily with their reading books, and will be checked every Friday. Reading at home has a huge impact on children’s development and we will be expecting children to read at home at least three times a week and have their journals signed by an adult.
Spellings - The list of spelling rules and some examples that we will be working on over the term can be accessed here for you to look at and practise with your child at home. We will also send a paper copy home during the first week. There will not be a weekly test, but we will do spelling checks throughout the term to ensure teaching and learning is effective.
Doodlemaths - We will make sure that all children have log-ins and these are working by the end of the first week. Children will then be expected to do Doodlemaths twice a week - once at school, and once at home.
TT Rockstars - The children log onto this at school weekly and really helps with times table fluency. Any extra practice at home would be great!
