What should I do if I want to apply to Oxbridge?
Get the best GCSE results you can in all subjects, not just the ones you want to study; pick the right combination of subjects; engage with the variety of supercurricular offerings at the Sixth Form.
Oxbridge will expect high GCSE averages. Most of our successful students have GCSE averages above 8; however, Oxbridge colleges heavily contextualise based on your secondary school and other widening participation factors. At the Sixth Form we work to quickly identify students whose potential outstrips their GCSE scores and inspire and support them to reach top universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College and the LSE.
Pick the right combination of subjects. Oxbridge admission tutors will expect you to be studying a programme of challenging A-levels. Particularly for STEM subjects you must be studying the correct combination of subjects to allow you to study it at a higher level. Check the university websites, the Subject Choices tab at the top of this page and individual course pages for more information.
Explore your subject beyond the specification. The universities want to see that you are both enthusiastic about your subject and capable of studying it at a high level. See the supercurricular tab at the top of this page.Â
