YouTube Channels

We recommend subscribing to the YouTube channels below to help further your understanding and appreciation of film analysis. Browse through and watch any video essays for films you have seen - do they reveal anything interesting about the film which you missed the first time you watched it? Seek out any interesting films you haven't seen, watch them, and then watch the video essay afterwards. This is a great way to help you reveal the film's deeper meaning and to understand how film's are constructed.

Reading

There is no requirement to purchase any books during your time on the A level Film Studies course as the lesson materials will provide you with all the information you will need on the set exam texts. However, below you will find a range of books which can be used to aid revision, further your understanding of the key concepts in the subject, and to deepen your knowledge of some of the set texts. Many of these can be borrowed from the college library or the Media and Film office but if you would like your own copy, click on the image of the book below.
