This is the first project we will be introducing you to in September. You will explore a range of mark making skills to create repeat pattern designs inspired by the theme 'At The Beach'. You will be introduced to a range of artists and designers to research and inspire your work. You will develop initial mark making using a variety of materials and then onto heat transfer dyeing processes to create lively patterns on fabric; further ideas will be enhanced digitally and will be sublimation printed to see your ideas come to life on a variety of fabrics.
Below are a set of tasks which will provide a taste of lessons to come and help you begin your coursework in September.

Please find 3 garments by your chosen Haute Couture designer and create a fashion illustration of each one using the method in the below video demonstration. Here is an overview of the techniques used:
Trace the model and garment loosely using continuous line drawing.
Collage sections of the garment on the model with patterned papers - magazines are a good resource.
Add final detail to the illustration using mark making with coloured pencils and pens.
