However, bear in mind that these are the minimum requirements to pass the course. GCSE maths is the most critical subject and we have found that students with a 6 in maths do not achieve A/A*s in the A-level. If you have a 6 in maths and do not need chemistry A-level specifically for your next steps, you should consider whether other courses might be a better option to allow you to achieve stronger grades at the end of the course.Â
