High Vision students
Have begun to research future careers; potentially see a future for themselves in the financial sector
Understand the role and value of accounting in the real world context
Seek clarification and guidance: ask questions of your teacher even if it means staying behind after class
Grasp all opportunities to consolidate previous learning; treat homework as a personal challenge to test themselves
High Effort students
Timetable their independent study; put in at least 3 hours each week
Know what an hour of study will be spent doing before it starts - have a timetable for homework, consolidation and catch-up work
Have a series of proactive activities to complete, regardless of teacher instruction - such as reviewing the topic covered in lessons, completing unfinished exercises, creating a summative revision sheet each week on the key elements of the current topic, etc
High Systems students
Are equipped to learn in every lesson: bring the provided folder, worksheets, pen, and paper to every lesson
Regularly review notes and learning materials
Look ahead and anticipate what is coming
Organise work into units
Create revision materials throughout the course
High Practice students
Practice exam questions
Recognise the necessary skills for success (e.g. writing down your workings)
Complete content learning as it goes
Gather past papers and attempt regularly
Identify topics in Accounting you are finding difficult so you can seek additional help to improve
High Attitude students
Strive to obtain every single mark in examination questions and are never satisfied with being average
Seek examples of better work to compare with your answers
Ask advice from peers, teachers and family to help with learning
Have a positive response to failure
Have self-belief and never give up.
