History & heritage related university courses

Lots of our students go on to take History and history-related subjects at university. For example, in 2024 our graduates went on to study courses including:

• History

• Art History & Visual Culture

• Ancient History

• Ancient, Medieval and Modern History

• Ancient History and Archaeology with a year abroad

• Modern and Medieval Languages

Lots of our students took joint honours, including:

• History and French

• History and Politics

• History and Political Economy

• History and English

Humanities & Social Sciences at Oxbridge

If you are interested in applying for any Humanities or Social Science course at Oxbridge, you should choose at least two of these subjects to study at The Sixth Form College Farnborough:

• History

• English Literature

• Spanish, French and/or German

• Mathematics

For a third subject you should consider:    

• Economics 

• Further Mathematics (if you are interested in Economics)

• Geography

• Politics

• Law

• Music

• Philosophy

• Psychology

You could even take an additional Art History A Level or EPQ through Art History Link Up.

Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships

Students from History have gone on to take apprenticeships in a wide range of areas, including:
