The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program accepts donations to help offset costs for cadets. These contributions are essential for covering expenses that aren't provided by the school or the Air Force. The funds are typically used to support a variety of activities and needs, including the purchase of special uniform items to recognize our outstanding cadets, equipment for extracurricular activities, supplies for celebrations throughout the year, as well as covering travel expenses for competitions, field trips, and other leadership development events.
Donations can significantly lighten the financial burden on cadets and their families. While the Air Force provides funding for core items like initial uniforms, training materials, and some funds for travel, many additional costs arise throughout the year. For example, cadets might need to help offset the costs associated with additional travel to a competition and associated meals. The money also helps fund extracurricular events that are crucial for developing leadership, teamwork, and a sense of community. Without donations, many cadets might not be able to participate fully in all aspects of the program, which could hinder their personal and professional growth.
Individuals and organizations interested in donating can mail donations to the Farmington High School at 1 Black Knight Dr, Farmington, MO 63640 (Attention JROTC) or drop off donations at the front office. Checks should be made payable to FHS (or Farmington High School). Donors can request information on how their contributions will be used, providing transparency and accountability.
