I am a Long Island native. I went to Sayville High School and then received my bachelors degree in Mathematics and my Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Adelphi University.
I began my teaching career in 2010 in Columbia, MD. Over the five years I was teaching at my school, I taught various interpretations of Algebra I (Common Core and not), Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and AP Statistics. I was also a student mentor, HW Club facilitator, Math Honor Society sponsor, and class sponsor.
In 2015, my ex-husband, daughter and I returned home to Long Island as I continued my teaching journey at Longwood Central School District teaching Common Core Algebra, Algebra Plus and Intermediate Algebra. After school I facilitated Blended Learning and Credit Recover for struggling students, as well as held frequent extra help sessions for my students.
I became a Daler in the 2016-2017 school year, teaching Intermediate Algebra and Common Core Algebra I. Since then, I have also added AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, 4R and 4H to my Daler resume. I am super excited to embark on a rigorous and engaging year.
I am a proponent of using technology in class, as well as doing open ended tasks that will make my students think. I look forward to celebrating our successes and working through our failures as we embark on this new school year.
Go Dalers!
