Guidelines to help you when making the decision whether or not to send your child to school:
Any child with a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher should remain at home. Children should be fever-free, without the use of medication, for 24 hours before returning to school.
Any child who is vomiting and/or experiencing diarrhea should be kept at home. Your child should be without symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.
Any child that has a generalized rash of unknown origin should visit their health care professional for diagnosis and a medical note to be cleared to return to school.
Please send your student back to school with an absence note explaining the reason for absence. Board policy requires that any student who is absent five (5) or more consecutive days must return with a note from his/her primary health care provider.
Tips for keeping healthy:
The most effective way to stop the spread of germs is frequent hand-washing. Please remind your children that they should wash their hands often, especially before eating.
School age children need 9-12 hours of sleep each night.
Eat a healthy and balanced diet and stay hydrated!
