The philosophy of the girls golf program is to teach players how to enjoy the game of golf as a lifelong sport. In addition, sports help to relieve stress, develop self confidence, and cultivate life-long friendships while pushing our mental and physical boundaries beyond what we imagined possible. We want participation in girls golf to be a positive learning and playing experience. It is our goal to field a competitive varsity program and teach and coach players at all levels of the game. As important as our athletic performances are, it is more important that we are setting our athletes up for their futures. The core values of our program are: Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, and Unity. When we embody these values, we will give ourselves the best chance to succeed both on and off the course.
The South High School Girls’ Golf Team purpose is to be successful and win at the highest levels of varsity competition.
We do this by:
training girls in the skills and strategies of competitive golf, developing in each girl an appreciation for the traditions of the game, and representing the school and community with the highest degree of pride, integrity, and sportsmanship possible.
The South Girls Golf Team Goals:
To compete at the varsity level,
To improve physically and mentally
To have a positive, upbeat attitude everyday
To have a lot of fun doing it
