The Bruins Soccer program includes student-athletes in grades 7 -12 from Fargo South High school and Carl Ben Eielson Middle School.
Bruin Soccer Program Levels of Play
Junior Varsity 2 - 7th, 8th and 9th graders
Junior Varsity level - Primarily 9th, 10th, 11th graders but open to middle school student-athletes who demonstrate the technical skill and decision making skills to play at this level.
Varsity level - Players selected for this team show the highest technical ability, decision making skills, and field awareness.

*Selections and team placements are determined by considering each player's opportunity for success, the overall needs of the program and a commitment to fostering player development at all levels.
**As the season progresses, there will likely be player movement from one level to another based on performance and needs of the soccer program.

Placement Criteria (All Levels Considered)
Speed of Play — How quickly a player makes smart decisions and executes under pressure through passing, dribbling or shooting.
Technical Skill — Ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting, defending. Moves to beat opponent and moves to create space for passing or shooting.
Tactical Awareness — Understanding positioning, movement, and game strategy
Decision Making — Choosing the best options in game situations
Creativity — Ability to solve problems, create opportunities, and adapt on the field
Work Rate & Effort — Consistent hustle, intensity, and willingness to improve
Coachability — Openness to feedback and ability to apply coaching points
Attitude & Teamwork — Positive attitude, respect, and contribution to team culture
