Josh is entering his 3rd year as Head Coach with the Eagles. Before becoming the head coach, Rogers was an assistant for Davies for 8 seasons. This is his 22nd year of coaching overall and he has been involved with several successful programs, including serving as the Head Coach for the Fargo South/Davies team during the 2010-2012 seasons, Head JV Coach for Buffalo/Hanover/Montrose 2012-2015, and then serving as an assistant coach with the Davies program from 2015 - 2023
Rogers graduated from Red River High school in 2001 winning two state championships as a player (2000, 2001). He played one year of hockey and football at Concordia College, where he graduated with a degree in Biology Education. He has been a teacher for 15 years, teaching at North, South and Davies. He was also a teacher in the Buffalo, MN school district, where he taught at an alternative high school. Since returning to Fargo, Rogers has been an EL science teacher at Davies High School for the past 8 years. He has also earned an MA in Physics Education and a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language.
Outside of hockey/coaching, he enjoys photography, hiking and walking, and advocating for social issues, including environmental justice. He is the advisor for Davies Environmental Club and occasionally drives the bus for away games.
Kara Tupa
Kara is entering her 2nd season as Assistant Coach with the Eagles. Before accepting the position, she was head coach for Hopkins JV Girls High School and has volunteered for various organizations, including Minnesota Special Hockey. Along with coaching, Kara has been an official for over 9 years with USA hockey and various other leagues, including MSHSL, USPHL and WCCHA.
Tupa graduated from Fargo South High School in 2014. She played hockey and soccer for Fargo South from 2010-2013 and won a state championship in 2012 with the girls hockey team. After her junior season, she moved to Michigan to join the 19u Honeybaked Ham. She won a state championship there, as well as finishing 5th at Nationals. She continued playing hockey in college for UND and Concordia Moorhead before hanging them up and finishing her degree in Communications at Concordia.
Outside of hockey, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, her cat Dave and going to concerts.
