• Pump theory and characteristics 

• Tanker safety culture and implementation of Safety Management System (SMS)

• Monitoring and Safety Systems, including Emergency Shutdown

• Cargo measurements and calculations

• Development and application of cargo-related operation plans, procedures and checklists

• Chemical cargo-related operations 

• Effect of bulk liquid cargoes on trim and stability and structural integrity 

• Calibration and use of monitoring and gas detection systems, instruments and equipment

• Management  and supervision of personnel with cargo-related responsibilities

• Medical first aid procedures on board chemical tankers 

VII. Competence: Monitor and control compliance with legislative requirements
