Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. offers maritime training programs accredited and regulated by the Maritime Industry Authority of the Philippines. Our training programs are delivered via distance and e-learning and adheres to the requirements of MARINA STCW Memorandum Circular No. SC 2021-10 Revised Guidelines on Training and Assessment of Seafarers by Distance Learning and E-Learning.
Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. ensures that our training programs conducted via distance learning and e-learning are first approved and accredited by the Maritime Industry Authority of the Philippines. We also ensure that Instructors and Assessors who are responsible for the conduct of our training programs conducted via distance learning and e-learning are appropriately qualified in accordance with the qualifications and standards prescribed by the Maritime Industry Authority of the Philippines.
Training programs may either be delivered:
Fully online - offered in a completely online environment, no in person or on campus meetings. Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. uses a combination of synchronous and asynchronous activities for our fully online training programs. The topics and activities which would be delivered asynchronously and synchronously will be seen in the Course Timetable and Course Outline of each individual training program.
Fully face-to-face - Trainees meet with the Instructor at regularly scheduled times, primarily in a classroom.
Blended (part online and part face-to-face) - the educational practice of combining digital learning tools with traditional classroom face to face teaching. Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. uses a combination of synchronous and asynchronous activities for the online part of our blended training programs. The topics and activities which would be delivered asynchronously, synchronously, and face-to-face will be seen in the Course Timetable and Course Outline of each individual training program.
Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. uses Google Classroom as the main software used in the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of training programs via distance learning and e-learning.
Google Classroom is a Learning Management System developed by Google for educational institutions that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students. It puts together all functions for online and offline course operation together such as course management, assessments for learning evaluation, Trainee work scoring and correction, as well as attendance and progress management.

Google Classroom integrates the following Google products into a cohesive platform to manage Trainee and Instructor communication:
Google Docs
Google Docs is an online word processor included as part of the free, web-based Google Document Editors suite offered by Google.
Google Forms
Google Forms is a survey administration software included as part of the free, web-based Google Document Editors suite offered by Google.
Google Slides
Google Slides is a presentation program included as part of the free, web-based Google Document Editors suite offered by Google.
Google Meet
Google Meet is a video conferencing service developed by Google that enables you to join virtual meetings via audio, video, chat, and screen.
Intellectual Property
Google Classroom is powered by Google Workspace which is another service developed by Google that provides independently customizable versions of several Google products. Google Workspace is a paid subscription product developed by Google and makes use of Far East Maritime Foundation Inc.'s domain name.
We utilize Google Workspace to power our use of Google Classroom to have more customizations than that of the free version.

Since YouTube is a Google subsidiary, all its functionalities can be easily embedded with Google Classroom. All videos that Far East Maritime Foundation Inc. will use as either reference or teaching material linked to Google Classroom needs to be uploaded first to YouTube for easy access.
