Classroom Responsibilities

Within the classroom, students will have an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities to benefit the entire classroom while building their own skills. Students will need to go through a brief application process, receive approval by two other teachers, and be selected at the teacher’s discretion. Students will be able to reapply for positions monthly. Some of these roles will include the following:

Supply Manager
- Monitor supply levels of pencils, papers, and other tools for classroom activities
- Locate all materials out of place at the end of the class

Maintenance Crew
- Assist the teacher directly at times in setting up experiments, demonstrations, and activities
- Ensure that classroom furniture is straight when leaving the classroom.

Technology Specialist
- At teacher instruction, indicate the appropriate use of Chromebooks
- Help address technology issues in the classroom

Office Ambassador
- Will complete errands to the front office
- Must be fluent in the behavior expectations of the school and the classroom

NOTE: If employed students receive a demerit inside or outside of my class, they have one week from the date of the incident to have the demerit removed. If they are are not able to remove their demerit, the student will be relieved of their responsibilities and another student will be hired.

Weekly Payments

For each week in the position, students will receive six Rebel Passes and one Daily Work Pass. Pay will be suspended if the student receives a demerit during the week. If the demerit is removed within the next week, pay will resume the next week. Students must present their agendas on Fridays (or the last day of the school week) to receive their weekly payment.
