F&M and Catholic will be meeting for the first time in school history
Last Week
The Diplomats (1-0) won their third consecutive season opener and improved to 36-34 all-time in home openers with an 18-6 win against Lebanon Valley last week. Tommy Garofalo scored seven goals and earned CC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his scoring outburst during his collegiate debut. Garofalo's seven goals are tied for the 10th-most in a single game in program history. The last Diplomat player to accomplish that feat was Kevin Mollihan who scored seven golas at Susquehanna in February of 2020. Christian Sullivan had another strong game for the Diplomats with three goals and three assists, while Will Mulligan and Charlie Bernicker each tallied two goals. Kai Kelly (one goal, one assist), Liam Timmons (one goal, one assist), and Cullen Decker (three assists) additionally registered multi-point openers.
The Diplomats will head out on the road this week for crucial regional matchups against Messiah and Catholic.
Last Time vs. Messiah
James Moroney registered a hat trick to lead F&M ton 18-5 victory inside Shadek Stadium during the 2022 season. Thirteen different Diplomats scored during the non-conference victory. Sage Garito got the start in goal and recorded the win as he stopped four of the five shots on goal that he faced before Lachlan Barber and George Rioseco closed out the final quarter.

Messiah Preview
Messiah is 1-0 on the season after defeating Centennial Conference foe McDaniel by a 14-9 score during the season opener. Bobby Berg led Messiah with four goals and one assist on nine shots during that victory. Ben Ferrell and Seth Libby also scored twice in that contest. Like the Diplomats, Messiah split halves with its goalies in the first game of the season. Aidan Hickey got the start and made one save as he faced nine shots on goal. Josh Grove played the second half and picked up the victory as he allowed just one goal throughout the five shots on goal that he faced.
Catholic Team Preview
Catholic won its season opener by a 15-13 score versus Mary Washington. Like Franklin & Marshall, Catholic is currently receiving votes in the latest USILA National Top 20 poll. Victor Rosado led the Cardinals' attack in the season opener with five goals. Fitz McLaughlin added a hat trick while Danny Fitzgibbons registered multiple goals. Eight different Catholic players scored during the win. The Cardinals won 16 of 31 face offs while Nic Pezone is stopped 51.9% of the shots he has faced this season.
