Privacy Policy for SafeAdBlock
Last Updated: 2025-12-14
1. Introduction SafeAdBlocker provides ad-blocking functionality for Chrome users. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy outlines our practices regarding data collection and usage.
2. Data Collection and Usage We believe that what you do online is your own business. Therefore:
We do not collect personal data: We do not track your browsing history, IP address, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
We do not use analytics: There are no tracking scripts (such as Google Analytics) in our code. We do not monitor how you use the extension.
No Remote Servers: The ad-blocking rules are bundled directly into the extension (rules.json). Your browsing activity is processed entirely locally on your device and is never sent to us or any third parties.
3. Permissions To function correctly, SafeAdBlocker requires specific permissions listed in our manifest.json file. Here is how we use them:
declarativeNetRequest: This permission allows the extension to block ads (network requests) based on a predefined list of rules. This blocking happens within the browser's internal engine; the extension does not read or modify your page content directly.
storage: We use the local storage permission strictly to save your preferences—specifically, whether you have toggled the ad blocker "ON" or "OFF."
Host Permissions (<all_urls>): This is required so the ad blocker can function on every website you visit. We do not use this to read or transmit website data.
4. Data Sharing Since we do not collect any data, we do not (and cannot) sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.
5. Updates We may update this policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
