If you are having issues with your school Chromebook, please complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSel-l2peN-JZZb-6yXmdADkNhjnJjZKcg3Mv0Q6BxILKIcJ3g/viewform?usp=sf_link

Google Chrome

All of our students have a G-Suite account. The first step to making sure your student can access all the resources they need is to make sure that they are logged into Google Chrome on the device that they are using. Here is a short video showing how the student logs into Chrome when not using a school provided Chromebook.

Chromebook: Check for Updates Weekly

If you are having issues with the Chromebook, please check for updates! This is a brief movie showing how to check for updates on your Chromebook.

ClassLink

Most Fallsburg student online learning opportunities can be accessed through ClassLink. The ClassLink icon is found on our main webpage in the QuickLinks section. ClassLink is a single sign on application that removes the need for students to have to remember many passwords.

Google Classroom

What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is our online Student Learning System for PK-12. It is a platform for teachers and students to interact via posting assignments and materials, engaging in academic dialogue, and providing feedback to one another.

How does my child access their Google Classroom(s)?

Please view the two movies above regarding Google Chrome and ClassLink. Your child may access their Google Classroom through ClassLink as long as they are signed into Google Chrome.

How is the Google Classroom organized?

  • The Stream tab

    • This is where announcements can be made by the teacher. Students, if enabled, are able to share resources or ask questions. Any assignments created on the Classwork tab are announced on the Stream.

  • The Classwork tab

    • The Classwork tab is where teachers create assignments and organize them. Here, assignments and materials will be added by their teacher. The Classwork tab may be organized in topics. When your child clicks on a task, he/she may see a due date, details, resources needed, and the status of the assignment.

    • Google Classroom allows students to submit work. Files can be attached or documents created and images to be submitted. Not everything here is considered an assignment to be turned in.

  • The People tab

    • This tab shows all the teachers and students in the Classroom.

How can I stay informed of my child's progress with Google Classroom?

As a guardian, you can receive email summaries showing your child’s progress in Classroom. Ask your child's teacher about this option for his/her Classroom. He/she will grant you access. You'll receive an email that requires you to accept the invitation and choose preferences.

  • You can choose the frequency of the emails, such as daily or weekly (M-F).

  • You can unsubscribe or remove yourself from Classroom at any time.

Guardian email summaries include:

  • Work that’s late at the time the email was sent

  • Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)

  • Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
