Ms. Corey - Official Poppy Girl 1970
Both of my grandfathers served in the Army during World War II. One of my grandfathers was the Commander of a VFW post and I was chosen to represent the VFW as a Poppy Girl at the age of 6, in 1970. The VFW distributes poppies in memory of veterans who have passed away. People usually give a donation in exchange to support the works of the VFW.

We are celebrating College Day on Friday May 22nd. I thought I would share part of my college story. :) After raising 6 children and working as a Paraprofessional for 15 years, I went back to college. I had started in 1982, but had to withdraw for financial reasons. I returned to school when my youngest daughter started college. We actually had our first class together! I graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2016 (the ceremony was in 2017). I had earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Special Education and Communication Studies, taking evening and online classes. My daughter walked across the stage in front of me at our graduation. Three of my daughters and myself have graduated from BSU.

We all have different paths, and they do not always follow the vision we may originally have, but there is much to learn in the journey.
