Traveling the country opening stores while teaching and training was my dream job, but not conducive to a family. So after 20+ years in the retail merchandising and marketing industry I switched gears. Teaching was my passion so I decided to head back to school for my Master's and pursue a career as a school teacher.
I spent 6 years at ACS in Fall River where I really built a great foundation for teaching upper elementary. As a team lead I encouraged staff to turn to Flexible Seating, Google Classroom, and also rebuilt the "Onboarding" program for new teachers. When the GATE position opened at Silvia it seemed like a perfect fit. It was hard to leave my ACS family behind, but soon I would build a new family here at Silvia. Last year we closed the door at the elementary school level for GATE, but new opportunities came to fruition. Mrs. Crockett has now taken on the role of STEM coach and interventionist. Students can find me in a variety of classrooms getting them excited about STEM and building scientist and engineers.
The Crockett family loves spending their summer's boating on the ocean with family and friends. We recently moved from Providence within the past few years and have created many outdoor COVID projects from a fire pit to our new garden. My daughter Aja is 10 years old and loves performing, fishing, and swimming.
