Faith Church uses Multi-Site streaming to broadcast the Pastors message in near real-time to multiple locations. Each location has it's own Campus Pastor, Praise and Worship and Volunteer teams. However, when it comes time to watch the actual message, the remote location then switches over to the main speaker who is projected on screens. When the speaker has finished, the service then switches back to the local team for service wrap-up.
The Multi-Site system we use at Faith Church is from a company called Living As One. (LA1)
This system has three distinct parts;
Because the broadcast site is several minuets in front of the remote campuses time-wise, the message is not 'real-time', the content can be stored-up (or buffered) into a media player ensuring a smooth continuous playback and zero content loss. No freezing, blackouts, buffering or jitter. Even during high internet latency or poor bandwidth connections.
The below videos will provide an overview and training on these systems and components.

Here is an overview of the LivingAsOne system

Our LivingAsOne (LA1) encoder is responsible for packaging and uploading the message to the cloud.
It is connected to our production system and is scheduled to automatically start and stop at the proper times. Thus this part of the system is completely hands off.
Other than some sysadmin monitoring, there is no volunteer training required for the LA1 encoder.

The LivingAsOne (LA1) decoder is responsible for downloading the message content, un-package it and make easy for volunteers to use. It has a simple intuitive interface, easy to find the desired message ques using VCR style buttons, all built on a robust platform.

The whole process of video capture and playback is made possible by a compression and decompression technology known as Codec. Without Codecs, due to current internet speeds, we would not be able to watch any streamed videos (either real-time or on demand) Here are a few FYI bonus videos that nicely explain the process.
