About Me!

2007 Graduate of Fairview High School

Earned my Bachelor's degree as well as my Master's Degree through Morehead State University

In 1994 I became a member of the Fairview family when I entered kindergarten at Renfroe Elementary. I remained at Fairview for the entirety of my high school career, graduating in 2007, and then furthering my education through Morehead State University. My husband, sisters, brother, mother, brother-in-law, and sister-in-laws are also Fairview graduates. My mother and one of my sisters also work within the Fairview Independent School system.

My husband and I have four dogs (Ellie Mae, Fred, Remi, and Ruger). In March of 2020 we got our foster care certification and we currently have one precious little one living with us.

The 2021-2022 school year will mark my 10th year teaching here at Fairview. Over the years I have taught a number of different classes and this year I will be teaching 6th grade science, 6th grade STEAM, and middle school Health and Wellness.

Mission Statement

I am committed to creating a positive and safe learning environment for all of my students. An environment where students are inspired and encouraged to learn, and are motivated to achieve their academic and personal goals.

I will always put forth my best effort and will expect the same out of every student. I am not only an example for my students to follow, but a leader – empowering those within my classroom with affective and content knowledge as well as a love for learning that will enable them to become educated citizens and lifelong learners.

In the classroom students will become active learners and will have access to tools that have a high potential for supporting learning in creative and innovative ways. Students will develop skills that encourage problem solving, creativity, analytical thinking, collaboration, communication, ethics, and accountability.

It is my goal to provide all students with a challenging, yet fun experience in my classroom. I have extremely high expectations of all my students. I will be expecting all work assigned in class to be completed. Of course, all students do not work at the same pace. Some students will get their work done in class and some will not. If a student does not complete an assignment in class, he or she will be required to complete it at home. In addition to class assignments, tests, and quizzes, I will be assigning projects in various subjects throughout the school year. Some projects will be completed during class, while others are to be completed at home. Support from home will not only make students more successful in school this year but will also instill good study habits that will last a lifetime.
