Internship Program
Through the Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP), students gain an awareness of a variety of occupations as they participate in structured, non-paid, on-the-job career exploration and in-school instruction. Most internship opportunities are obtained through the collaborative efforts of parents, student, and CEC Coordinator.
This is a full year or one semester opportunity. Seminar class meets one day per cycle for career related instruction.
Credit available based on hours completed.
- 54 documented hours -- 1/2 credit
- 108 documented hours -- 1 credit
Students have participated in this program by being an Intern at schools such as Brooks Hill, Northside, Dudley, and Jefferson Avenue, as well as companies such as Inde Design and Perinton Ambulance.
Work Study Program
The Work Study program is for students who work a part-time evenings or weekend job and would like to earn credit towards graduation for their experience. Students learn valuable workplace skills at their job.
This program combines work experience and classroom instruction. Students learn how academic knowledge and skills can be applied in the workplace. This is a one semester or one year opportunity. Seminar class meets one day per schedule cycle for career related instruction.
Seniors may be eligible to leave school early to go to work.
Credit available based on hours completed.
- 150 hours (averages 7-9 hours a week) -- 1/2 credit (half year or full year)
- 300 hours (averages 7-9 hours a week) -- 1 credit (full year)
Students work at businesses such as Clawson's, Wegman's, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, Perinton Recreation Center, Fairport Public Library, Yummies, Target, Old Navy, Michael's, Perinton Ambulance, Midvale Country Club, Pontillo's, TK's Pizza, Fairview Veterinary, Men's Warehouse, Auntie Anne's, Crayon Campus, Subway, Tops, Fairport Baptist Home and many others.
