Lifetime fitness is important to each of us in a variety of ways.

Our program offers a variety of individual and team activities for our students to build strong and healthy bodies. Students have fun while learning new skills and games creates the foundation for students to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Our school wide PBIS expectations: BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE, BE A LEARNER are incorporated daily. We are committed to fostering an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, honesty, and acceptance.

Fairport CSD Physical Education

Vision:

Physical education in the Fairport Central School District is an integral and required part of the total educational experience. Our program is child-centered and focuses participation on physical activity. Although physical education is the centerpiece, other unique and worthy objectives are attained through a well planned program that offers a variety of activities and experiences. The professional staff teaches sport and movement skills, integrating the concepts of health and wellness, fair play, teamwork and personal living skills, thereby nurturing a healthy and active lifestyle. Our ultimate goal for Fairport students is that physical activity is a joyful experience.

Mission:

Physical education in the Fairport Central School District is an integral and required part of the total educational experience. Our K-12 Program focus is the health and well being of our students for life. All things we do are aimed at the Physically Educated Student. Therefore our program does the following:

  • Provides opportunities for students to explore a variety of healthy activities in a distraction free and pressure free environment
  • Provides instruction on Health Related Fitness concepts and personal living skills
  • Provides quality physical activity as often as possible that are suitable for all ability levels
  • Provides social and emotional guidance in team work and the value of synergy
  • Provides motivation to continue activity through success and enjoyment of activity

"Life is like a 400 meter high hurdle race. You are going to come up against hurdles, you just need to keep your head down, lean in and sail over it. Sometimes you are going to knock the hurdle down, just make sure you land on your feet running towards the next hurdle." ~Coach Paul "Jake" Jacoby
