Protect responsible utah creators
Oppose Utah HB 322
*Please take 7 minutes to do these 3 simple Action Items
Every minute counts! Take action now to protect your business, our children and our community!
This could be voted on in the next few days!
OUR PURPOSE:
We support protecting minors in digital media and ensuring their well-being, fair treatment, and financial security. However, HB 322 fails to effectively target actual exploitation, ignores existing laws, and instead punishes responsible, ethical content creators with unrealistic financial burdens and excessive red tape.

Why Utah Creators Oppose It:
*Read & Follow The Bill: Utah House Bill 322
*We have many concerns with the Bill, some of the main concerns are:
The Bill would require 100% of the revenue from the video/post to go to the children/minors that were in that video/post (this applies to all videos/posts on all social media produced that has children/minors in it).
No consideration is given to other business costs to produce these videos/posts (editing, directing, producing, costumes, props, sets, location fees, graphic designers, marketing, admin costs, business costs, advertising, employees, taxes, etc)
No consideration is given if the child actors were already fairly paid/compensated
The Bill would require social media companies/channels to delete/remove content that a child demands to be deleted (once they turn 18 years old).
No consideration is given to the high costs the social media owner has paid to produce the videos/posts (including paying the child actors)
No consideration is given to possible ill intent to remove content
No consideration is given that this could force a social media company to delete all or most of their content
