Class Expectations
Here are three major expectations in the TV studio to make Media Arts as productive and safe as possible.
Safety First
This is a Positive Space
"Can't" is not recognized here.
Priority #1 Safety First
Keep yourself safe.
Keep others safe.
Keep equipment safe.
Priority #2 This is a Positive Space
All students are welcome in the TV Studio regardless of race, gender, and abilities.
Students must put differences aside, participate as a small team, and treat others with respect.
Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
Students will refrain from creating any work that promotes violence, hatred, illicit substances, or uses any offensive language.
Kindness Rule
If students engage in rude language or actions to another student or teacher, you will be expected to produce three genuine compliments for that student.
Failure to do so, will result in a 0 score as a daily grade.
Priority #3 Growth Mindset
Of all the electives offered at Fairhaven High School, this is one of the more difficult. You will be challenged, and you will create work that you wish were stronger. It's important to remember, no one is good at something the first time you try it.
Think about the first time you rode a bike. How many tries did it take? Did you just throw your hand up?
Keep pushing yourself in this class, you'll be surprised at what you are able to accomplish.
Communication Expectations
Here's what you can expect from me regarding communication.
Academic Concerns
You will receive an email from me regarding any academic concerns should your student be in danger of failing the course.
Student Work
Once during the semester, I'll share with you copies of your student work through this class website.
Positive News
Often, I may call or email home with exciting and positive news about your student.
